YOSHI OKAI
EXECUTIVE CHEF
Born and raised in Kyoto, Japan. Learned the culinary arts through working with his family's catering business. Landed in Austin in 1998 and worked as head sushi chef at Uchi, Uchiko, East Side King, and Qui. Joined New Waterloo as head chef of Otoko in 2015. Named one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs in 2017. Perfectly strikes the balance between punk rock singer and culinary badass.
